Lights for Liberty Vigil

On Friday evening, July 12, people gathered at West Capitol Park in Albany for the Lights for Liberty Vigil, a demonstration to protest the inhumane conditions faced by migrants coming across our borders seeking a better life. People came together quietly, greeted one another and acknowledged the common bond of human decency that brought them to participate in this event. There were a total of 544 vigils worldwide in all 50 states and in 13 other countries. A poignant backdrop to the mingling of participants was the ageless lyrics playing from a speaker… imagine all the people where the world will be one and everybody get together love one another right now... Groups represented at the vigil included Bethlehem Indivisible and Bethlehem Morning Voice Huddle.
