Capital NYPAN and Capital NYPAN North represent 2 of the 29 chapters of NYPAN (New York Progressive Action Network).  NYPAN is a state-wide grassroots organization comprised of 29 chapters and 11 affiliates throughout every congressional district in New York State.  The organization was founded by field organizers and delegates from the Bernie Sanders Campaign as a means to maintain the enthusiasm from grass roots organizations and activists to work on local and state-level elections and policy initiatives. NYPAN works with affiliate organizations to share resources and expertise and, ultimately, improve operations and effectiveness.

The following represent Capital NYPAN and Capital NYPAN North’s primary areas of focus:

  1. Outreach initiatives to grow the Democratic Party for sustainable engagement and activism, including, but not limited to, voter registration.
  2. Civic & Voter Education
  3. Improving local turnout for local elections, including municipal primaries and elections, municipal caucuses and school board elections and turnout and activism in support of progressive issues at the local, regional, state and national levels.
  4. Building coalitions among individuals and entities committed to advancing progressive policies and candidates and democratic processes.
